JPMorgan Chase Open draw released

The draw for the JPMorgan Chase Open in Los Angeles has been released and Maria is the top seed after Lindsay Davenport pulled out of the tournament. Maria received a bye in the 1st round and will play either Marissa Irvin of the United States or Maria Kirilenko of Russia in the second round.


Maria has played Irvin once before in Miami this year and won 6-2 6-0. Maria has never played Kirilenko before.



Since Davenport withdrawed from the tournament Maria has another chance to get the #1 ranking for the first time in her young career.
